Silvestri joined Leeds at the start of the Massimo Cellino era when signing from Chievo back in July 2014 and went on to make 44 appearances as United's no 1 in his first Whites campaign.

The Italian then played another 48 games in his second season at Leeds but Silvestri was then replaced as first choice 'keeper by Rob Green under Garry Monk and had to make do with six outings in cup competitions in his third season at Elland Road.

Silvestri then joined Hellas Verona in July 2017 and the 'keeper has become the club's first choice shot stopper this season in starting 25 league games for a club eighth in Serie A.

Reflecting on his time at Leeds in an interview with Calciomercato, Silvestri said: "It was a new experience.

"It gave me so much. It was very educational, I played so much.

"During my first two years, I featured 92 times."

Verona are only one point behind seventh-placed AC Milan and also have a game in hand.

Asked who he now looked up to as the best goalkeeper in the world, the 29-year-old Italian said: "Now there are several, I would say Alisson. There are also Ederson and ter Stegen."
