Marcelo Bielsa wary of Leicester City's threat even without leading marksman Jamie Vardy

Marcelo Bielsa pointed to Leicester City's clash with Everton in midweek when asked what threat the Foxes pose without leading marksmen Jamie Vardy.

Brendan Rodgers will be without the striker when the Whites travel to the King Power stadium on Sunday afternoon (14:00).

Vardy underwent minor surgery on a persistent hernia problem recently and despite returning to light gym work in training, won't be available to face Leeds.

The 34-year-old has scored 13 goals and bagged five assists across 20 appearances in all competitions this season.

In his absence in midweek, Ayoze Perez led the line for the Foxes as they claimed a 1-1 draw with Everton in the Premier League at Goodison Park.

Bielsa - who saw his side fall to a 4-1 defeat in the reverse fixture last November - says the Whites are wary of the attacking threat Leicester pose, even without their top goalscorer.

"In the game against Everton they were the protagonist throughout," Bielsa said in his pre-match press conference.

"They had a style where they circulated the ball very quickly and a very marked offensive style. They played to try and attack and to try and position themselves in the opposition's half.

"I think what stands out the most with Leicester is the way they combine and elaborate in attack, that is the most dangerous thing about them."

Leicester sit in third place in the table ahead of kick-off and are just three points off top flight leaders Manchester City.

Asked about their title chances this season, Bielsa replied: "I think it would be too early, I wouldn't be able to make a judgement about this - if you asked me about any team in the title race I would give you the same opinion."

The Foxes will also be without midfielder Wilfred Ndidi but Elland Road scorers Harvey Barnes and Youri Tielemans (two) are available for the hosts.

"The games are not comparable," Bielsa reflected on defeat earlier in the campaign.

"The reality of teams change is on a weekly basis and the corrections that each team wishes to make are not linked to the next opponent but to the effects of the production that the team has."
