Leeds are heading for Saturday night's clash at third-placed Chelsea having taken four points from their last two games with a goalless draw at home to Arsenal followed by last weekend's 1-0 triumph at Everton.

The Whites had previously fallen to consecutive 4-1 defeats at home to Leicester City and Crystal Palace on the back of taking ten points from their first six games which included a 1-1 draw at home to title favourites Manchester City and a 3-0 romp at Aston Villa.

Bielsa, though, is finding it hard to draw firm conclusions about United's start to life in the Premier League ten games in.

"I’m always a little reluctant to answer this question," said Bielsa, asked for an overall assessment so far.

"If you observe, we had a favourable start to the season where the goals that we conceded did not really affect the results as we were scoring plenty.

"And then there was a period where we conceded a lot of goals and we weren’t very efficient in attack.

"In the third period we haven’t conceded goals and we've created opportunities to deserve to win.

"Which three of these periods describes us best, I wouldn't know what to tell you."

Tonight's encounter will now serve up United's latest assignment against an established Premier League big gun and a first league clash between historic rivals Leeds and Chelsea for 16 years.

Asked on a personal level how enjoyable he was finding it being back in an environment where he was facing the best coaches and best teams in Europe, Bielsa said: "Always, to play against those who are better and those who are better than us.

"It’s a challenge for whoever has to compete and it's a challenge that they enjoy for those who have to compete."
