Marcelo Bielsa refused to lay the blame for Leeds United's 1-0 defeat at Wolves at the feet of fortune.

The Whites hit the woodwork and were denied by several Rui Patricio saves, Liam Cooper alone missing a hat-trick of chances at Molineux Stadium.

When Wolves hit the crossbar, the ball bounced down onto the back of Leeds keeper Illan Meslier and into the net.

A tight game that was dominated for large parts by his side being settled in such a way gave Bielsa the opportunity to shrug and simply point to bad luck. But he wouldn't.

"We dominated the majority of the game," he said.

"There were very few periods where we weren't the dominant side. We have double the chances of them. We defended well and attacked well.

"The offensive game we had was sufficient to score at least one goal and in a game of small margins I had the feeling we were the superior side.

"We had 10 chances from different areas and I thought our offensive game was good. I don't think we conceded the dominance of the game too often. Of course they have two wingers who are very dangerous and although we didn't dominate them completely I thought our defensive performance was good."

In Bielsa's eyes however, when you have no luck you've simply got to do more in order to make your own.

"We can't link the result with luck," he said.

"I have the idea that the team has to go above and beyond so that luck isn't a factor in the result.

"It's clear that the result today was defined by efficiency. When you talk about luck and what you deserve it is not accepted in a general manner.

"We had 10 chances and we weren't able to score a goal, they had five and scored one. That explains the game."
