Marcelo Bielsa favourite reveals why he's left Leeds United in 'stressful' and exciting move

The midfielder – who is highly-regarded by Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa – has put pen to paper on a temporary move to the LNER Stadium in a bid to gain more experience.

Sunderland were one side reportedly keen on the 20-year-old, while Hull City, Huddersfield Town, Swindon Town and Doncaster Rovers had all been touted as potential destinations.

But it’s the Imps who have won the race for his signature in a move which Gotts says transpired rapidly.

"To be honest, it's come around quite quickly,” he told Lincoln’s official website.

"But as soon as I did hear interest, I was really keen to get the deal done.

"It was a bit of a stressful night last night. On the motorway it was stressful and coming down - it was all a bit last minute.

"But I'm really happy to be here."

Gotts is known to be a favourite of Bielsa at Elland Road, but was keen to head out on loan having seen his opportunities in Yorkshire restricted to under-23 appearances.

"It just excites me,” he said of the move.

"Now is the time. The time is right to do it and I want to experience it and I feel like it will be good for me on and off the pitch.

"Living on my own, I haven't experienced that so I'm really happy to get going."
