Manchester City win pick of the bunch for Leeds United, now bring on Liverpool

Daniel Chapman, the Yorkshire Evening Post’s regular columnist on a Tuesday, called it a win that created as proud a feeling as Leeds United clinching promotion.

That’s just how magical that Whites victory at Manchester City was on Saturday lunchtime.

Improbable before kick-off, especially given the all-conquering run City had been on and the fact Robin Koch had described them as the best team in the world at present in an exclusive interview with YEP in the build-up, it was an astonishing victory for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

There has been many a highlight in this season of adventure back in the Premier League, but none more so than that moment at the Etihad Stadium when Stuart Dallas streaked forward and found the back of the net.

What a player Dallas has become, something he will be discussing at length later this week in the YEP.

We’ll also have Dominic Mateo’s exclusive column reflecting on the Etihad and looking ahead to the visit to Elland Road next Monday night of defending champions Liverpool.

Another shock Leeds United win?

Maybe. Thing is, with each of these wins, it becomes less of a shock.
