Manchester City star Ilkay Gundogan has hailed Leeds United as 'unique' as Marcelo Bielsa prepares for Liverpool.

The Whites face another stern test on Monday evening in the Premier League, welcoming Jurgen Klopp's reigning top flight champions to Elland Road.

Leeds secured a stunning 2-1 win over Pep Guardiola's outfit last weekend after playing the whole second half with 10 men following Liam Cooper's dismissal.

City returned to Champions League action in midweek and reached the semi-final stages with a 4-2 aggregate win over Borussia Dortmund.

The Reds, though, were sent crashing out of Europe by La Liga giants Real Madrid at Anfield with a second leg 0-0 draw which saw Zinedine Zidane's men progress 3-1 overall.

Liverpool will now finish the campaign trophyless and have seven games to haul themselves into the top four to qualify for next season's competition.

Klopp admitted on Wednesday that his thoughts had already turned to Bielsa's side, but Gundogan issued a warning over the Whites.

"It was frustrating, we tried everything that day to win the game," he told BT Sport.

"It wasn't meant to be, we conceded two simple goals - maybe it was too easy for Leeds to score their goals.

"At the end they defended well. The way they approach the game is unique and they have quality in their team as well.

"So it wasn't our best day but we'll try to keep going."
