Leeds United transfer rumours: Manchester City ready to offload £11m attacker to Whites, Bielsa told to sell striker and sign midfielder, Erling Haaland latest

Leeds United tasted defeat against Aston Villa on Saturday.

A fifth-minute Anwar El Ghazi goal handed Dean Smith’s Aston Villa the three points against an out of sorts Leeds United at Elland Road.

In his post-match press-conference, Whites head coach Marcelo Bielsa was questioned about his side’s disappointing performance.

“In the game, I think we played better than the opponent,” Bielsa said. “We had many minutes of dominance, there were very few where we were dominated. In the first half we created more chances than they did, even if they scored a goal.

“The ball always finished in the opponent’s box. We didn’t concede any counter-attacks.

"We lost the ball in the final third. All the crosses, passes from out wide, into the centre, were imprecise. In the set-pieces, which we had plenty of, we also didn't manage to unbalance in this way.

“To summarise, I think it was a game we did not deserve to lose.

"I think the draw would have been something more logical. And I think if there had to be a winner, it should have been us.

"In that in the first half, we created six chances at goal, which is a good number of chances, with the dominance more shared. And in the second half with complete dominance and only managed to create one.”

Despite the loss to Aston Villa, however, there is still plenty of transfer talk swirling around the internet this morning
