The Whites are also now tackling the best young sides in the country on a weekly basis following last season’s promotion as Premier League Two Division Two winners which has meant top tier under-23s football this term.

Leeds have the ball in the net but offside

55: Lovely move between Drameh and McKinstry who crosses for Miller to slam home but McKinstry had strayed offside

Chances for both sides

53: Koumetio heads over from a corner, back come Leeds and McGurk fires over from the edge of the box

McKinstry right wing, McGurk at no 10. Greenwood and Bate centre midfield. Struijk now back into the defence, at left back. Kenneh now centre back alongside Hjelde.

48: Gelhardt again, running at the Reds defence down the left, cuts inside, resists the chance to shoot and lays the ball off to Greenwood who blazes over

Back underway - Leeds double change

McCarron and Cresswell off. Greenwood and McKinstry on.

The second goal came from a McCarron throw in to Gelhardt who then turned and took out two defenders to break into the box, square ball to Miller who fires home. Leeds superb.

45: Miller. Brilliant from Gelhardt who made the goal all on his own.

44: Gets in down the right, his low cross is cleared and he punches the grass bank behind the goal in frustration, says it all about the standards that he sets himself.

Fine defending Cresswell

40: Norris is in down the left, fires in a powerful cross that just needs a tap in but Cresswell gets there first and clears for a corner which is tipped away by Klaesson.

38: Leeds are in down the right, Miller’s shot takes a deflection and smashes back off the post. Struijk then fires wide after collecting the rebound. Leeds come again and Drameh puts in a brilliant cross that Liverpool clear.
