Christian Fuchs has revealed Luke Ayling apologised following a dive during Leicester City's victory over Leeds United.

Marcelo Bielsa's side hosted the Foxes at Elland Road on Monday evening in Premier League action.

Leeds, though, were well beaten by Brendan Rodgers' outfit as they fell to a 4-1 defeat in LS11.

United were put on the back foot after just three minutes following a loose back pass from German international Robin Koch.

Jamie Vardy pounced on the loose ball to allow former Whites target Harvey Barnes to tap into an empty net just seconds after Patrick Bamford had missed a point blank header at the opposite end.

Youri Tielemans added a second after the 20 minute mark from close-range before Stuart Dallas pulled a goal back inadvertently for the hosts just after the half-time interval.

With Leeds in search of a leveller Ayling tumbled to the floor inside the box under a challenge from Fuchs.

Replays showed the defender had failed to make contact with the United wing-back as referee Andre Marriner waved appeals away for a spot kick.

City then caught Leeds short at the back with just 14 minutes to go as Vardy linked up with substitute Cengiz Under to score himself as Leeds committed players forward.

Tielemans later completed the scoring in added time from the penalty spot themselves to leave an emphatic look to the scoreline after VAR overturned a Mateusz Klich challenge on James Maddison.

Ayling - who received criticism on social media for the dive post-match - apologised immediately for his error in judgement according to his Leicester counterpart.

"In all fairness Luke Ayling excused himself right after the penalty incident and after the game for his dive," Fuchs revealed on his personal Twitter account.

"If I went all the way in it would have been a penalty for sure. Thanks for the great game Luke."
