Leicester took the lead in the 13th minute when Harvey Barnes was afforded too much space and played a neat one-two with James Maddison before firing past Illan Meslier from just inside the box.

Yet Leeds hit back to level just two minutes later as Patrick Bamford played in Stuart Dallas who produced a clinical finish into the bottom left corner following a terrific run from midfield.

Ayoze Perez looked to have fired the Foxes back in front four minutes later but the Spaniard was flagged offside and Leeds then lost Rodrigo to injury as Mateusz Klich replaced the record signing from the bench.

A deflected Jack Harrison cross was then just kept out by Kasper Schmeichel underneath his crossbar and Schmeichel was then forced to parry a stinging drive from Harrison behind for a corner after a terrific raking pass from Mateusz Klich.

Schmeichel then somehow kept out Bamford's header from the corner and whilst Klich converted the rebound, the Pole was offside.

Another outstanding save from Schmeichel then denied Raphinha whose fierce volley was tipped wide.

At the other end, Illan Meslier saved a close range effort from Marc Albrighton and the Frenchmen then kept out a flick from Ayoze just before the break.

Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers switched to a back three during the interval and Leicester threatened quickly after the break but a strong block from skipper Liam Cooper kept out a drive from James Justin.

Long range efforts from Ricardo and Youri Tielemans were also saved and Leeds went ahead in the 70th minute when Raphinha played the ball to Bamford who unleashed an absolute thunderbolt into the top right corner from the edge of the box.

Wesley Fofana saw an effort deflected over as Leicester looked to respond and Jonny Evans then prodded the ball just wide from a corner.

A fine save from Meslier then denied Perez before the Frenchman kept out Nampalys Mendy's low shot from the edge of the box.

Leeds then suffered another injury blow as Raphinha had to be taken off for Helder Costa with ten minutes left.

Pascal Struijk almost netted a third Whites goal from a corner but Leeds finished the job in the 85th minute when Mateusz's Klich through ball sent away Bamford who squared the ball to Harrison who could not miss.

Twelfth-placed Leeds are now on to 29 points and only four points off the top six.

A message from the Editor:

Leeds has a fantastic story to tell - and the Yorkshire Evening Post has been rooted firmly at the heart of telling the stories of our city since 1890.
