Leeds United's Under-23s secured a ninth win in a row in Premier League 2 as they defeated Norwich City 2-0 amid three red cards and two penalties in Norfolk.

The Whites travelled to the Lotus Training Centre with a young side at Mark Jackson's disposal due to Marcelo Bielsa's senior squad being in action at Wolves this evening.

Joe Gelhardt, Jack Jenkins, Niall Huggins and Leif Davis were all absent while Max Dean and Bobby Kamwa started the match.

The game got off to a slow start with windy conditions playing a part but Crysencio Summerville caused the tie to burst into life with a brilliant run into the box down the right.

The winger was hauled to the floor inside the area to halt his progress but Leeds failed to open the scoring from 12-yards as Kamwa cushioned his effort wide from the spot.

Leeds did have the ball in the back of the net before the half-time mark through Under-18s top scorer Dean, though he was denied by the offside flag after a clever flick from Charlie Allen.

Norwich began the better of the two sides following the interval yet it was the visitors who opened the scoring with a lovely move down the hosts left.

Summerville was overlapped by Cody Drameh and the full-back got to the byline to find Dean lurking with a low ball.

A relatively calm affair then saw two red cards in the space of seven minutes as Reece McAlear and Nohan Kenneh were both handed their marching orders.

The pair were adjudged to have done enough to pick up second bookable offences with both teams reduced to 10 men despite complaints.

Whites captain Charlie Cresswell was then forced to clear off the line before the Canaries were reduced further to just nine players.

Melvin Sitti was booked for kicking the ball away and a little over a minute later was shown red for a tackle on Summerville outside his own box.

Despite the deficit the hosts pushed United back but it was the visitors who had the final say in the eighth minute of stoppage time.

Stuart McKinstry won a second penalty for Leeds and Summerville this time made no mistake by sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to seal all three points.
