The Leeds United man saw minutes in the final friendly outing under Rob Page last week but was named as a substitute in Baku.

Wales opened their Group A Euros account with a point on Saturday afternoon in a game dominated by the heat in Azerbaijan.

Switzerland opened the scoring in the second half after a drab opening 45 minutes between the two countries.

Xherdan Shaqiri swung in a 49th-minute corner and Breel Embolo held off the challenge of Connor Roberts to send his header past a despairing Danny Ward.

Wales, though, levelled after 74 minutes from a short corner routine to haul themselves back into the encounter.

The ball was worked to Joe Morrell and his cross was superbly met by Kieffer Moore, who headed home his sixth goal in 18 international appearances.

Switzerland saw a late winner ruled out thanks to the intervention of VAR which deemed substitute Mario Gavranovic offside after he volleyed home to spark celebrations.

Wales sit second in the group after the result alongside their opponents following Italy's 3-0 win over Turkey on Friday.
