Leeds United's Tyler Roberts named in Wales squad for pre-Euros training camp ahead of Rob Page's final decision

Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts' chances of going to this summer's European Championships have been given a boost with a place in this week's Wales training camp in Portugal.

The Whites attacker is one of the 28 players Rob Page is taking to the Algarve for a week, ahead of the final squad announcement next Sunday.

Roberts' international future had somewhat of a question mark hanging over it after being sent home early from the last Wales camp when he broke a hotel curfew.

Given his game time in the Premier League this season and some of the performances he has produced against the English elite, it would come as a huge shock if the 22-year-old did not make Page's squad.

He started 14 of Leeds' Premier League games and came on as a substitute in a further 13 to amass 1,337 minutes of top flight football. His first goal did not arrive until the penultimate game of the season against Southampton but he was desperately unlucky not to finish the campaign with a handful, top class saves and VAR interventions playing their part.

His former West Brom team-mate Hal Robson-Kanu, who was also disciplined by Page for 'breaching protocols', has been left out of the squad. The third man in the group who were sent back to their clubs by Page following that incident is Rabbi Matondo and he will join Roberts in the Algarve region this week.

Former Leeds transfer target Daniel James is not in the squad due to Manchester United's Europa League final involvement but if he's fit he will almost definitely make the 26-man squad for the delayed major tournament.
