The summer transfer window is now just around the corner and the next few months at Leeds United promise to intrigue. After missing out on promotion to the Premier League, the Whites will have to cut their cloth accordingly and that could mean selling one or two of this season's key men.
However, promotion will be the aim next time around and the Whites will be keen to make the additions needed to give Daniel Farke the best chance of leading the club back to the top flight. As such, it could be a busy few weeks behind the scenes at Elland Road as the club's decision makers plot their path through the next few months.

Goodman's transfer expectation
Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman believes Leeds United's recruitment staff could hold the key to success next season. After failing to make the step back up to the top flight this time around, Leeds could be forced to surrender some of their star talent. The likes of Crysencio Summerville, Wilfried Gnonto and Archie Gray have already been heavily linked with moves away and Leeds might not be in a position to dig their heels in, should the right offers be made.
However, whether the above names stay or go, eyes will be on how the club respond to this season's disappointment in the transfer market as they look to add fresh faces to Farke's squad and Goodman says the Whites shouldn't struggle to secure the targets they want.
“They’ll obviously lose players like Summerville, Gnonto, possibly one or two others, but let’s hope it’s the lads out on loan they will be getting rid of,” he said per MOT Leeds News.

“There’s an easy argument to be made that it’s the biggest club in the Championship – supporters of other teams may disagree – but it’s an attractive club if you’re a player looking to play for a big team and get promoted to the Premier League.
“They won’t have trouble attracting that type of player, but they do have to get their recruitment right in order to get into the top two.”

Leeds United are one of several clubs reportedly keen on signing Nottingham Forest man Ateef Konate this summer. Konate is due to leave Forest when his contract expires later this month after failing to force his way into the senior fold, but according to Africafoot, he isn't short of potential suitors.
The report claims Leeds, Derby County, Sunderland, Huddersfield Town and Vitesse Arnhem are keen on the forward and while the switch to Elland Road might appeal more than most, former Leeds man Carlton Palmer believes he would be best off looking elsewhere in the Championship for game time.
"He needs to be playing football," Palmer said to Football League World. "It’s looking at a club where he’s going to be given the opportunity to play football.
“Derby are having a complete re-shuffle with their playing squad. We’ve seen how Sunderland are with young players, but they’re yet to have a manager in place. Leeds United will be pushing for promotion next season, and they’re in need of a front player.
