Leeds United head to Cardiff City on Saturday in the hope of bouncing back from a first defeat of the season against Burnley last weekend. Daniel Farke’s men have enjoyed a decent start to their second Championship campaign but there is still plenty of room for improvement.
Despite losing more than £120million worth of talent over the summer, Leeds recruited well and so can still boast one of the Championship’s best squads. It leaves Farke with plenty of tough decisions to make when it comes to picking a starting line-up, however, and top-quality players are regularly having to be benched.
Below, the YEP has attempted to put together a strongest-XI as things stand. Take a look and see what you think...

1. GK: Illan Meslier
Undisputed No.1 at Leeds and in no serious danger of losing his spot to Karl Darlow. Early-season performances have been mixed. | Getty Images

2. RB: Jayden Bogle
Endured a shaky start to life at Leeds, albeit not all of the criticism has been deserved. Been a little sturdier defensively in recent weeks and continuing to provide attacking threat down the right. | Getty Images

3. CB: Joe Rodon
Ever-present in the heart of defence and building strong relationships with those around him. Not at his dominant best just yet but Leeds fans know what an in-form Rodon can offer. Photo: Cameron Smith

4. CB: Pascal Struijk
Could stake a claim as Leeds' best player so far this season and most certainly their biggest set-piece threat. Always on the ball and looking to build attacks from the back with crisp passing. | Getty Images

5. LB: Junior Firpo
Has seemingly been given much more license to go forward and taking that chance with both hands. Off the mark for assists with an excellent ball for Joel Piroe in the 2-0 win over Hull City. | Getty Images

6. CM: Ethan Ampadu
Farke's leader on the pitch will barely miss a minute all season, having only come off after picking up a slight knock against Burnley. Defensive qualities needed even more with both full-backs free to bomb on at any opportunity. Photo: Lewis Storey
