The 30-year-old made five top flight appearances throughout the month as he finished the campaign with a flurry.

Rodrigo found the back of the net four times - including twice against Burnley at Turf Moor - and recorded one assist which came at Southampton.

Leeds finished the campaign ninth in the standings with the club winning four out of their five outings across May.

United's club record signing suffered an up and down campaign, having endured a number of spells on the sidelines since joining from La Liga outfit Valencia last summer.

He made 26 appearances in total under Marcelo Bielsa's watch and his end of season form wasn't enough to see him secure a spot in Spain's Euro 2020 squad.

Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale, Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke, Liverpool wide man Sadio Mane, Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe and Newcastle United loanee Joe Willock have all be nominated for the monthly award alongside Rodrigo.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker and Sheffield United stopper Aaron Ramsdale complete the nominee list.
