Patrick Bamford had to order a football from Amazon in order to keep his skills sharp during lockdown.

The Leeds United striker realised he didn't even own a ball of his own after the club delivered gym equipment to his home in Bardsey, where he is currently self-isolating with girlfriend Michaela Ireland and dog Duke.

He has posted videos on Instagram of his pet enjoying a kickabout with him, and admits the ball he bought online is inferior to the official footballs supplied for Championship matches.

Bamford has also been given a training plan by Leeds United's strength and conditioning coaches to work on at home.

“I had to order a ball off Amazon,” Bamford told Yorkshire Post chief sports writer Stuart Rayner.

“It’s one of those replica ones so it’s a bit mis-shaped but I’ve got one and I just play around in the garden and the dog tries to take it off me and nicks it and stuff so I’m just messing about."

“I try and get out there every day and even if it’s only ten minutes, just messing around with the dog is a little bit of dribbling.

“It’s nothing regimented, just purely for enjoyment I guess!”
