Leeds started slowly and were behind after Ben Thompson opened the scoring for the Lions after 10 minutes.

Leeds were back level just before half-time following Pablo Hernandez's tidy finish from the edge of the area after Patrick Bamford missed a penalty for the Whites.

Leeds fell behind once again after Liam Cooper gave away a penalty which Ben Marshall duly tucked away to leave Leeds to be ruing missed opportunities.

Another goal from Pablo Hernandez following his omission from the Championship Team of the Season as well as rare goal from Luke Ayling saw Leeds take all three points and open up a two-point gap over promotion rivals Sheffield United.

Leeds United suffered late heartbreak at the hands of Millwall following Jed Wallace's 92nd winner after Leeds had come from two goals down to lead 3-2.

The Whites were down to 10 men for the third time in as many games following Liam Cooper’s straight red card.

A brace from Pierre-Michel Lassoga and a goal from Kemar Roofe couldn't stop Thomas Christiansen's men from falling to defeat.

Leeds United eased their relegation fears thanks to Alex Mowatt's wonderful free-kick on Valentines Day.

Mowatt gave Leeds the lead with a curling effort in the 39th minute which appeared to ease some of the tension at Elland Road.

Leeds could have been two goals to the good but Steve Morison missed a one-on-one as his quest for goal-scoring form continued.

Leeds were nearly made to pay for Morison's miss when Martyn Woolford fired over after Giuseppe Bellusci gave the ball away but the Whites held on to record their fourth win out of their last five games and managed to climb up to 12th in the table.

Matt Smith opened the scoring with a header for his 10th goal of the season following Connor Wickham's persistence.

Ross McCormack made it two close to half-time to give the Whites some breathing room.

However Leeds didn't have it all their own way after DJ Campbell's 25-yard strike made it a nervy finish for the Whites.

Leeds United missed one penalty and scored another to keep the play-off dream alive after starting on the backfoot against Steve Lomas' Millwall, who could have been 3-0 up inside the opening 20 minutes after some very good chances went begging from Martyn Woolford and James Henry.

Neil Warnock’s men however responded well and were given the chance to go in front from the spot in the 28th minute following a foul on Sam Byram.

However, McCormack missed the penalty after referee Mike Jones ordered a re-take - McCormack having scored the first.

Leeds then had another chance from the spot and Stephen Warnock made no mistake from the spot.

United managed to hold on for the three points and kept their play-off hopes alive.
