Leeds United's Kalvin Phillips starts for England with four Whites players lining up for Wednesday night internationals

KALVIN Phillips will make his third start for England in Wednesday night's Nations League clash at home to Denmark with the Leeds United midfielder already bagging his fourth cap.

Phillips came on as a 66th-minute substitute for Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson in Sunday's Nations League clash at home to Belgium and the Whites midfielder now starts from the outset with Henderson on the bench.

Phillips again looks set to form a central midfield partnership with West Ham's Declan Rice who keeps his place in the side.

Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate has made five changes to his side with captain Harry Kane returning after muscle fatigue and replacing Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin upfront

Spurs club-mate Eric Dier also misses out through injury and is replaced by Conor Coady while Reece James and Ainsley Maitland-Niles make their first senior starts as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kieran Trippier drop out.

Leeds have five players on international duty on Wednesday evening - all in 7.45pm kick-offs - with four of them starting and only Stuart Dallas on the bench for Northern Ireland's Nations League clash in Norway.

Tyler Roberts starts upfront for Wales in Bulgaria with Mateusz Klich also lining up for Poland at home to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Gjanni Alioski also starts for North Macedonia at home to Georgia. All of the games are Nations League clashes with all bar the North Macedonia game on Sky.
