Leeds United's FA Youth Cup campaign has been temporarily put on hold by the Football Association due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The Whites' Under-18s outfit were due to face MK Dons at Nethermoor Park on Thursday (January 14), but the cup competition has been postponed until further notice to align with the current national lockdown imposed across England.

A statement from the FA said: "The health and wellbeing of players and staff are of paramount importance and The FA intends to resume the national competition once the UK Government’s current national COVID-19 lockdown concludes and it is deemed safer for clubs to travel.

“The FA Youth Participation & Development Committee, which is responsible for management of the competition, will continue to review the situation and The FA will provide further updates at the earliest opportunity.”

Leeds reached the fifth round of the tournament last season before falling to defeat to bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.
