Leeds United’s narrow defeat at Manchester City was followed by fresh blows for key rivals - but where do the bookies think the Whites will now finish?
Third-bottom Leeds travelled to title-chasing City as massive underdogs after three straight defeats but gave Pep Guardiola’s side a scare before falling to a heart-breaking last gap 3-2 defeat.
The loss left Daniel Farke’s Whites in danger of being cut adrift in the bottom three ahead of Sunday games for fourth-bottom West Ham and fifth-bottom Nottingham Forest but the Irons and Forest both then fell to defeats.
West Ham suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Liverpool who finally got back in business whist Forest failed to keep their good recent run going as Brighton left the City Ground with a 2-0 victory.
With second-bottom Burnley beaten 3-1 at Brentford on Saturday and Wolves then losing 1-0 at Aston Villa the next day, it has meant the entire bottom five all falling to defeats.
Fulham were the weekend’s big winners in the lower reaches of the division, Saturday evening’s 2-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur seeing the 15th-placed Cottagers boot five points clear of the bottom five and now six points ahead of Leeds.
After 13 games played, Leeds remain in the relegation on goal difference, one point ahead of second-bottom Burnley, level on points with West Ham and just a point behind Forest.
Wolves, though, remain eight points adrift at the bottom and nine behind the Whites.
But there is precious little between the other four positions and the bookies have now updated their relegation odds.
Here, based on those odds, is their new predicted final table and where they think Leeds will now finish - using title odds to determine sides expected to end up in the top half.
