Leeds United vs Stoke City: Daniel Farke issues fresh update on injured men and midweek team news plan

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke sits down with the media this afternoon ahead of the Whites' midweek meeting against Stoke City at Elland Road.

Leeds were held at the weekend by relegation-threatened Huddersfield Town and will be met by another side struggling at the wrong end of the Championship table tomorrow night. Steven Schumacher brings his Potters squad to Elland Road in search of back-to-back wins in the league and to become the first side to complete the double over Leeds this season.

In the reverse fixture late last year, a Patrick Bamford spot-kick dominated the post-match discourse as the Staffordshire club capitalised on the No. 9's error from 12 yards to take all three points with a late set-piece winner.

This time, Leeds go up against Stoke on the back of a ten-game unbeaten streak in the Championship, as well as a 19-match unbeaten run at Elland Road. Farke is expected to provide a fresh injury update on the knocks and niggles sustained by his players during the 1-1 draw at Huddersfield last Saturday.

Press conference scheduled to be underway from 1:30pm. Updates to follow here.

Farke on focusing on next game

We know this league is relentless, each game you have the chance to win three points. Sometimes in this league there are crazy results. We come two-and-a-half days after lots of load against Chelsea into a difficult away game, let's be honest they should've had a sending off before the first goal. It's difficult to grind out results on the road. A point can make a big difference in the table in the end. Overall we know we're in brilliant shape. We've delivered in recent weeks and months, no reason to dwell on a draw. I tell you what, if someone would guarantee me that we would win all our home games and just draws in away games, I wouldn't sign it but I think the outcome would please many people around the club. If we do this, we finish with 96 points.

Farke on lifting the dressing room

We've got a pretty young side who was used to winning, it's important to bring the experienced side in. Never underestimate a draw, especially on the road when you've played 2.5 days before. We were disappointed because we didn't need to concede in this way, a bit of a cheap free-kick to give away. Didn't want to take this away but to speak in a realistic way, a point on the road in this league is a solid result. I would never sign for a point before a game because I always want to win but we take it. A small step forward.

Summerville update to come

Leeds' Dutch winger and top scorer this season took a whack to the ankle during the first half at Huddersfield but managed to see out the game.

It's an area he's had issues with throughout this season that Farke and the medical staff have been keen to keep an eye on, so we'll ask for the latest on his situation.

As for the existing injury issues, we expect to hear more on Pascal Struijk who is expected to have rejoined team training but is still some way off a return to match action.

Welcome to Thorp Arch

We're up at the training ground again this afternoon to hear from Farke.

Updates to follow from 1:30.
