Alioski helped his country make history late last year as they qualified for this summer's European Championships which kick-off next month.

It is the first time the nation has made it to a major finals and they will take on the Netherlands, Austria and Ukraine in Group C at the delayed tournament.

The 29-year-old has now taken up his expected spot in Igor Angelovski's squad for the competition.

Alioski has made 28 Premier League starts and seven substitute appearances this season under Marcelo Bielsa in West Yorkshire, scoring two goals and bagging three assists.

"It’s been amazing," Alioski said over his recent international exploits.

"The biggest thing for us, as a team and a country, was [qualifying for] the Euros. It was such a big step for North Macedonia as we had never done it before, but all the way through we really believed.

"With the team we’ve built over the past five or six years, we know we are strong, that the quality is high.

"There is good talent and a nice mix of young players and experienced guys, and we’ve become a close group over the past few years because the team hasn’t changed much in that time.

"Now we’ve achieved our dream together."

Alioski could play his final Leeds game this weekend with his current deal in LS11 due to expire this summer.

There are serious doubts over his Elland Road future with just one game remaining.

Bielsa has made it clear he would like the converted full-back to stay and although he has not signed the deal on the table from the Whites, the door isn't shut on a contract extension.

North Macedonia will kick-off their Euro 2020 tournament against Austria on June 13 in Bucharest.
