Leeds United Under-23s travel to Stoke City in season opener with fans able to stream clash

Leeds United's Under-23s travel to Stoke City on Monday evening to lift the curtain on their Premier League 2 campaign with fans able to watch the behind closed doors clash.

The Whites - who were awarded category one academy status this summer - travel to the Clayton Wood Training Ground to take on the Potters in league action.

United are competing in Division Two of the Premier League 2 pyramid for the first time in the club's history after being awarded the top tier academy ranking in July.

The fixture will be streamed live on Stoke's YouTube channel with kick-off in Staffordshire set for 19:00.

Marcelo Bielsa's first-team host Hull City at Elland Road on Wednesday evening in a second round League Cup clash, but a number of new development arrivals could be involved against the Potters tonight.

Leeds have bolstered their youth ranks with the acquisition of Joe Gelhardt from Wigan while Sam Greenwood and Cody Drameh made the move from Arsenal and Fulham respectively.

Dutch goalkeeper Dani Van Den Heuvel has also joined from Ajax with United hoping to add a further addition to the Under-23s squad this week in the form of Feyenoord winger Crysencio Summerville.

Jordan Stevens meanwhile could be set to depart after Swindon Town boss Richie Wellens confirmed his interest in taking the wide man on loan at the weekend.

Leeds face a swift turnaround after Monday's game as they host Wolves on Friday afternoon (14:00) at Thorp Arch in another league outing.
