The Whites are unbeaten in the Professional Development League since late October

Leeds United secured an impressive 4-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers on Monday afternoon at Thorp Arch to continue their impressive unbeaten league run.

Carlos Corberan opted to start with Ian Poveda and Gaetano Berardi as Barry Douglas was named on the bench.

The Whites were back in league action following a 2-1 Premier League Cup defeat to Derby County on Friday night at York City.

Leeds began the afternoon on the front foot as Bobby Kamwa and Stuart McKinstry went close before two goals in the space of a minute put the hosts in control.

First Niall Huggins opened the scoring as he danced into the before but seeing his low shot deflected into the bottom corner by defender Liam Edwards.

United then doubled their lead with the next attack straight from kick-off as Theo Hudson played a lovely ball into the feet of Liam McCarron who made no mistake from inside the area.

The visitors were struggling to get a foothold into the match as Corberan's men pressed on.

Berardi made way on the half hour mark as he was replaced by Barry Douglas in a planned substitution.

It was Oliver Casey who went closest before the interval with his shot from distance shaving the outside of Luke Hutchinson's post.

Jordan Stevens was introduced at the break and he made his presence felt immediately as he broke free to volley a Douglas corner home.

Leeds then added a fourth after a clever run from Hudson down the left saw him get in behind the Wanderers backline.

Kamwa was on hand this time to fire home from inside the six-yard box with Hutchinson helpless in the visiting net.

Bolton did have a chance to get on the scoresheet a short while later as Jack Jenkins brought down Joe White in the box.

White hauled himself up to take the spot kick but Elia Caprile was equal to it as he dived to his left to keep the effort out with strong hands.

Wanderers did finally manage to break the Italian's resistance before the afternoon was done as substitute Callum King-Yarners found the bottom corner of the net from outside the box.

United, though, would hold on to claim a deserved victory as Corberan continued his unbeaten run which stretches back to late October in the league.
