Leeds United trio selected for England under-19s squad amidst raft of international calls

YOUNG Leeds United trio Charlie Cresswell, Joe Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood have all been named in the England under-19s squad as part of a raft of Friday international call-ups for the Whites.

Cresswell, Gelhardt and Greenwood have all been called up to Ian Foster's young Three Lions squad ahead of their games against Scotland under-19s at the national football centre on Thursday, October 8 and Sunday, October 11.

The trio could come up against Under-23s Whites team mate Stuart McKinstry who has been named in Scotland's under-19s squad.

On the senior front, summer Whites recruits Diego Llorente and Rodrigo have both been called up to the Spain squad for October's clashes against Portugal, Switzerland and Ukraine.

Fellow summer recruit Robin Koch is also in the Germany squad that will take on Turkey, Ukraine and Switzerland while Mateusz Klich has also been named in the Poland squad that will face games against Finland, Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

And United's versatile extraordinaire Stuart Dallas is also once again part of the Northern Ireland squad ahead of their crucial Euro 2020 play-off against Bosnia and Herzegovina next Thursday night.

Northern Ireland also have two Nations League fixtures coming up, hosting Austria in Belfast on Sunday October 11 and then taking on Norway in Oslo on Wednesday, October 14.

Whites midfielder Kalvin Phillips secured his second call-up to Gareth Southgate's senior England squad on Thursday for this month's clashes against Wales, Belgium and Denmark.

United captain Liam Cooper is also in the Scotland squad for their upcoming games against Israel, Slovakia and Czech Republic.
