The result leaves Leeds 10th in the table with six games left to go, and they remain just four points off a potential Europa League place for next season.
Speaking after the game, which saw defender Diego Llorente rescue a late point for the Whites with a powerful header, Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa gave his verdict on the match, and revealed: "I think the game was beautiful.
“In the first half it was more even and in the second half we managed to dominate proceedings. We created goalscoring opportunities and played in the opponents' half.
“We recovered many balls that permitted us or allowed us to attack. But it's also true that while we were managing proceedings they maintained their threat.”
He continued: “Perhaps in the second half when we were losing we had more continuity when we were searching for the equaliser. In the same we had chances, they had chances also.
“As the difference was only one goal we had hopes we would convert one. We kept on being dangerous even though the opponent was defending close to their goal.”
Next up, Leeds return to action this weekend, when they host Manchester United in what should be a thrilling encounter at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon.
