The Whites’ quiet window so far is one that was expected, as revealed by YEP writer Graham Smyth in his Q&A on Wednesday, who also addressed the recent links to young duo Sean McGurk and Louie Sibley.

He said: “I don’t see any business happening this month.

"Sean McGurk at Wigan Athletic is a player they have tracked, one they like but the price would have to be very right for it to happen this month, given his contract is up in the summer.

"Louie Sibley is another whose name has definitely appeared on a list but I’d be surprised (pleasantly) if that one was to happen any time soon.”

Another player known to be admired by Victor Orta is Rangers star Ryan Kent. The Whites director of football admitted he tried to sign last summer.

And former England striker Darren Bent explained to Football Insider why he believes Kent could be sold this month.

Bent said: “You always want to kind of tie your main players down and he definitely is, even though he’s had a little dip in form, I still believe he’s one of the main threats for Rangers.

“You always wonder when a player has an agent change, what the reason is behind it – whether it be looking for a move or whatever but there’s been big offers for him.

“Rangers paid £7million which is massive money for Rangers, let’s not kid ourselves, Leeds had huge interest in him but it didn’t quite work out but again I always go back and say if the price is right, the player will go.

“If he’s playing well and there’s teams sniffing about, Rangers will have their own value on his head and if that’s met this month, then it’s going to happen.”

Meanwhile, there is potentially a huge update in the future of Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul, with one pundit believing he’s exactly what Marcelo Bielsa needs.

Here’s a round-up of some of the other transfer rumours involving Leeds, including De Paul, and their Premier League rivals this morning:
