Leeds United transfer news: Whites 'quietly confident' over Marcelo Bielsa deal, Gjanni Alioski blocked from leaving Elland Road

Leeds United have been linked with a number of players throughout the January transfer window – but today’s speculation references the future of Marcelo Bielsa.

The Argentine took charge at Elland Road in the summer of 2018, establishing himself in Leeds folklore after ending the club’s 16-year absence from the Premier League.

And following a solid start upon their top-flight return, Whites owner Andrea Radrizzani is in no doubt over who he wants at the helm – Bielsa

However, as he and Leeds fans know too well, the 65-year-old will not deviate from his policy of waiting until the campaign finishes before discussing his future AND signing just 12-month contracts.

Indeed, it can cause uncertainty but according to the Daily Mirror, the Whites are relaxed about the situation and are quietly confident Bielsa will commit to a fourth campaign in West Yorkshire.

Radrizzani, who welcomed extra investment from the San Francisco 49ers this week, is prepared to back Bielsa and Victor Orta in this summer’s transfer window.

One player who Bielsa will hope to have at his disposal next season is Gjanni Alioski – with reports in Turkey claiming the former Marseille boss has blocked an exit for the left-sider in January.

The North Macedonian is out of contract in the summer, and it was even claimed this week that Alioski “had reached a principle agreement with Galatasaray”.

Haberturk via Sport Witness is the latest publication in Turkey to highlight Gala's interest in Alioski. They say boss Fatih Terim wanted to sign him this month but Bielsa put a stop to that.

Meanwhile, there is said to be a “total agreement” over Rafa Mujica’s future.

Here’s a round-up of some of the other transfer rumours involving Leeds, including Mujica, and their top-flight rivals this morning:
