Leeds United transfer news: Whites battle Everton for soon-to-be free agent as Liverpool and Manchester United eye Raphinha

Even with 13 games left to play in the Premier League, you couldn’t mistake Leeds United for having one eye on the summer.

Barring an absolute disaster, Marcelo Bielsa’s men can count themselves safe from relegation after Tuesday’s 3-0 win over Southampton lifted them into 10th on 35 points.

Of course, Whites fans may dream of a potential European challenge and while that isn’t completely out of the question, in terms of the pre-season objective, it is certainly a case of job done.

It is set to be a busy summer at Elland Road with Bielsa seemingly prepared to stay and Victor Orta already on the lookout for new signings.

And as per The Athletic, Leeds are targeting five new arrivals, but with that comes potential departures.

It is reported that Pablo Hernandez, Helder Costa and Tyler Roberts could be at risk – and the latter has been urged to leave Leeds by former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell.

Speaking to Football Insider, Campbell said: “I’d like to think if they were going to keep him (Roberts) then they’d have already done the business.

“Once a player gets into the final year of his contract, you’re skating on thin ice because the player doesn’t need to do anything to get a move.

“Roberts hasn’t really started a lot of games. I’m sure there will be teams who are coveting his signature to try and give him game-time.

“At the end of the day, it’s all very well being a squad player but if you’ve got ambitions of starting you’ve got to go somewhere to play football.”

Meanwhile, speculation surrounding Raphinha is showing no signs of slowing down, and understandably so.

The Brazilian has taken the Premier League by storm following his £17million switch from Rennes with five goals and five assists this season telling only half the story.

His impact has not been underestimated, hence the growing list of admirers from across Europe.

Manchester United and Liverpool, according to Sportitalia TV journalist Gianluigi Longari, are two of a number of clubs showing interest.

Longari expects the transfer saga to be “well contested in the summer” but makes it clear Leeds want to keep him.

You’d suspect it would take a substantial offer for the Whites to sell the 24-year-old, who is less than 12 months into his five-year contract.
