Nahitan Nandez reports from Sardinia

Sardinian outlet Centotrentuno claim that Leeds are in ‘pole position’ to sign Cagliari Calcio’s 25-year-old Uruguay international midfielder Nahitan Nandez and that Whites director of football Victor Orta is heading to Sardinia for talks. A report from Centotrentuno reads: “It is still Leeds that are in pole position and try to take the decisive step to give it to Loco Bielsa. As is well known, relations between Tommaso Giulini and Andrea Radrizzani are excellent and the interest of the English team remains very high. Today the whites could try to launch the decisive assault: some emissaries of the club, including the sporting director Victor Orta, left for Sardinia to meet the rossoblù club. In the next few hours, there may already be news on the negotiation, while Nández from Uruguay is spending extra holidays after Copa America. During the tournament, in a press conference, the player said he didn’t know anything about the interest of the team coached by Loco Bielsa and that he would only think about the Copa America: now the competition is over and the knots must necessarily come to a head.”
