Leeds United team vs Brentford confirmed as Daniel Farke makes big Harry Wilson decision

Leeds United kick off their home Premier League campaign against Brentford this afternoon.

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has named his starting line-up to face Brentford with summer signing Harry Wilson dropped to the bench.

The Whites welcome Brentford to Elland Road for their first home game of the 2026/27 campaign. Both teams head into the clash in good form, with Farke’s side twice beating Nottingham Forest in league and cup.

Visitors Brentford kicked off their Premier League campaign with a 3-0 win at home to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, That was followed up with a 6-1 thumping of Birmingham City in the Carabao Cup.

Ahead of an intriguing Elland Road meeting, Farke has confirmed his starting-XI with a return to the team that beat Forest in the Premier League, barring one change. Noah Okafor has come in to replace Harry Wilson for his first league start of the season.

At the back, Jaka Bijol has come back in for Nico Elvedi, who impressed on debut in the Carabao Cup. The Slovenian looks set to start between Joe Rodon and Tarik Muharemovic, with James Trafford looking to keep his third consecutive clean sheet in goal.

Jayden Bogle is at right wing-back while James Justin - who scored in midweek - is on the left. Ethan Ampadu will lead the side out as captain with Anton Stach alongside him in central midfield.

Further forward, Wilson will have to wait for his competitive Elland Road debut with Brenden Aaronson moving across to the right. Okafor is on the other side with Dominic Calvert-Lewin upfront.

New goalkeeper Michael Zetterer wasn’t registered in time to be eligible this afternoon and with Lucas Perri joining Torino, the back-up option is Alex Cairns. He joins Wilson and the returning Gabriel Gudmundsson on the bench.
