Rodrigo, the club's record signing, has struggled with interruptions to his debut season at Elland Road since a summer move from Valencia.

Getting up to speed when he first arrived, testing positive for Covid, a groin injury and then a more recent niggle have restricted him to just 12 starts in the Premier League.

Raphinha, meanwhile, is being monitored day to day but Bielsa is unable to confirm if the Brazillian will recover in time to take on the Red Devils at home on Sunday.

Liam Cooper remains suspended following his sending off at Manchester City.

"With Raphinha we're controlling his evolution on a daily basis. Up until now he hasn't recovered sufficiently to be able to train," said Bielsa.

"Rodrigo is in the last stages of his recovery but not well enough to feature this weekend against Manchester United."

Raphinha picked up the knock in the 2-1 win over Manchester City. The winger was racing into the opposition half on a counter attack when Fernandinho felled him with a cynical challenge.

Although Raphinha attempted to play on he sank to the turf a few moments later and had to be substituted. He subsequently missed the 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Elland Road on Monday night.

As for Sunday's visitors, defender Eric Bailly returned to training on Monday having missed the last seven games in league and cup competitions after testing positive for Covid-19 last month.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains without Anthony Martial and Phil Jones, neither of whom trained on Thursday.

Martial injured his knee whilst on international duty with France in March and Jones has not featured all season due to a knee problem.
