The Leeds United starting-XI for today’s Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace has been confirmed with no changes for a third game running.
Leeds welcome Palace to Elland Road looking to continue their excellent start to the campaign. The Whites are unbeaten in four Premier League games and thumped Newcastle United 4-1 on Monday night with two-goal Dominic Calvert-Lewin the standout.
Daniel Farke’s side produced arguably their most complete performance of the season that night, particularly in a first-half where they scored three goals in 14 minutes. And so it will come as no surprise to see the Whites boss has named an unchanged side this afternoon.
That means Farke has stuck with a midfield three that ran things against Newcastle, with man of the moment Ao Tanaka starting his third straight Premier League game. The Japan international joins club captain Ethan Ampadu and Anton Stach in the middle of the park.
Ahead of him, Noah Okafor will be given the freedom to drift wide and into pockets of space as he did so effectively on Monday night. Calvert-Lewin starts upfront and will look to increase his two-goal Premier League tally ahead of joining up with the England squad.
At the back, Farke’s only real decision at present is whether to start Jaka Bijol or Nico Elvedi. He’s gone with the latter and deservedly so after another good showing against Newcastle on Monday, with Elvedi set to go toe-to-toe with January Leeds target Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Elvedi starts between James Justin and Tarik Muharemovic in the back three, with Jayden Bogle on the right having had Monday’s goal taken off him. Gabriel Gudmundsson starts at left wing-back while James Trafford keeps his place in goal.
Leeds XI in full: Trafford; Justin, Elvedi, Muharemovic; Bogle, Ampadu, Tanaka, Stach, Gudmundsson; Okafor, Calvert-Lewin
Subs: Zetterer, Bard, Bijol, Gruev, Longstaff, James, Aaronson, Bahoya, Nmecha
