"I know I will" - Tarik Muharemovic makes exciting claim following Leeds United arrival with club knowledge
Bosnian defender Tarik Muharemovic has become Leeds United’s second signing of the summer.
Tarik Muharemovic has made an exciting claim following his Leeds United arrival, armed already with good knowledge of his new club and a personal vow.
Bosnia and Herzegovina international centre-back was unveiled as United’s second signing of the summer on Friday, the defender becoming the second most expensive signing in United’s history in joining from Sassuolo in a £34m deal.
The 23-year-old continually impressed for Sassuolo to help the club to a very respectable 11th-placed finish in last season’s Serie A before jetting out to the World Cup with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The defender gained valuable experience as his side progressed to the competition’s round of 32 before being knocked out by the USA and Muharemovic joins Leeds with 17 international caps to his name in addition to his 32 outings in Serie A.
Muharemovic, though, whose transfer fee is only eclipsed by Georginio Rutter’s, says he knows he will get even better at Leeds, vowing to give everything in every game for a club he has been following ever since learning of United’s interest.
“I know I will get even better here”
Speaking to LUTV, Muharemovic was asked what the Leeds fans could expect from him as a player and vowed: “As a player I will give everything for this club.
"I will give everything every game, I just want to win. I hate to lose and I will fight for every ball, even with it's my head or my feet, I'm going."
Asked if he was ready for the challenge ahead, he said: "I'm born ready. I'm ready, I just can't wait to start and I know I will get even better here.
“I know that it is a big and historical club. I know a lot.
"I followed since I heard about the interest that I could come here.
"I watched a lot, especially I watched a lot of videos about the fans, that every game is sold out, so it is just incredible.
"It feels amazing, I just can't wait to start the season and to see the fans."
