Winnie Woollin recently celebrated her 85th birthday - receiving the latest Leeds United kit from her family.

Her grandson Dave posted an amazing side-by-side picture of Winnie wearing the new kit alongside a 1950 picture from King's Cross Station in London - where Winnie had followed the team to support them in their efforts to beat Arsenal.

However, the picture of Winnie at the station - adorned in a scarf embroidered by her sister-in-law - has featured on many broadcasts and been used in books since.

Now, fans have heralded Winnie as one of the longest serving fans of the club after the viral post reached 5,000 shares and likes on Twitter.

Winnie, speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, said the Whites are now playing the best football she had seen under Marcelo Bielsa.

"I used to go home and away with my dad, who used to ask if I could jump the turnstiles to save paying!

"My dad was the one who got me into the team.

An emotional picture posted online showed her reaction to a video of Leeds United chant 'Marching on Together' - which Winnie said was her favourite - dedicated to her.

Winnie continued: "My grandson told me 5,000 people had liked the post online with my photographs.

"I have been overwhelmed by it all.

"I have had messages from across the world, Australia, Japan and Chile included."

Winnie has no plans to stop attending Elland Road and still goes to matches as much as possible with her family.

She added: "The team has started very well.

"We are playing such good football.
