Leeds United reject deadline day 'enquiry' from Premier League rivals for star man - report

Interest in a Leeds United star on transfer deadline day.

Leeds United reportedly rejected an enquiry from Premier League rivals for one of the team’s star men on transfer deadline day.

Leeds went into the final day of the summer transfer window looking to add another attacker to their ranks in order to pave the way for Willy Gnonto to join Fiorentina.

With the Whites working on a deal to sign France under-21s winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya from Eintracht Frankfurt, Gnonto completed his move to the Serie A side on a season-long loan with purchase option.

But as Leeds looked to strengthen their squad the Whites also received an enquiry from Premier League rivals Sunderland for one of their star men.

The Athletic reported on deadline day evening that Sunderland enquired about Noah Okafor today but that United swiftly rejected the enquiry with no interest in him leaving.
