Edmondson missed Monday afternoon's 2-2 Professional Development League draw with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough and it has now been revealed he will be sidelined until late March.

The forward has been a key figure for Carlos Corberan's outfit in recent seasons following his move from York City in November 2017.

He bagged 19 goals in all competitions last season as Leeds lifted the national league title.

Edmondson has made two senior appearances for the club so far but has seen his chances under head coach Marcelo Bielsa limited.

New signing Jean-Kevin Augustin featured for 45 minutes in South Yorkshire for the Whites as did fellow first team players Ian Poveda, Gaetano Berardi and Jamie Shackleton.

Niall Huggins struck from a free-kick before an injury-time own goal from Liam Shaw saw the Under-23s earn a point to maintain their unbeaten run which stretches back to October.
