Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford reflects on newfound 'warming' to Whites

Leeds will return to action following the October international break with Monday night's Premier League hosting of Wolves which United approach with seven points already on the board after four games.

After an opening day 4-3 loss in a thriller at champions Liverpool, Leeds then recorded their first victory via the same scoreline at home to Fulham before picking up a second success in a 1-0 triumph at Sheffield United in which the result did not match the attacking nature of the game.

United then found themselves subjected to a Manchester City onslaught in their fourth game of the season and second at Elland Road yet Marcelo Bielsa's Whites came roaring back with more free-flowing attacking football of their own in a pulsating 1-1 draw.

Taking a time-out from training during the international break, Whites striker Bamford joked that he did not know quite what to believe when it came to news and opinions with the Leeds no 9 saying he generally picks up a lot of information via Twitter.

He is, though, sure that United's approach to life in the Premier League is winning them plenty of new friends, and certain that no matter who Leeds come up against, that approach will remain the same.

"To be fair I get most of my news like in general everyday life off Twitter," said Bamford, asked about perception to United's start and how he accessed news and opinion speaking to LUTV.

"I follow so many things that I see everything - risky I agree because you never know what's true across the spectrum!

"But I get a fair bit off there, a little bit off the news aps and then I listen to the radio generally coming into training in the car and pick up bits and pieces off that.

"I obviously hear about how everyone is almost a little bit surprised at how Leeds are doing whereas really the ones that would have seen us last year will know what we are about.

"And I think the fact that we have brought exactly the same energy, enthusiasm and style that we had in the Championship, I think people are respecting it.

"You see a lot of teams coming up and saying 'we are playing a big team here, we are going to sit back and we will be happy if we can nick a draw here.

"We are like 'you know what, there's nothing to lose, we want to win every game and if we don't win then at least we are going to try.'

"I think people are seeing that and they are kind of warming to Leeds which I know is quite rare!"
