The account, which Bamford follows himself, has over 8,000 followers and attempts to have fun with the perception that the well-educated striker is posh.

The biography describes Bamford as 'an officer, a gentleman and a footballer for Leeds United. Lover of the finer things including my Basset hound, Thatcher and horse, Diana. Parody."

Speaking in Leeds United's latest 'Ask' offering in conjunction with Deliveroo, Bamford was asked if he had seen the Parody Bamford account and if he liked it.

"I think it's brilliant to be honest," laughed Bamford, who was alerted to the account by his girlfriend Michaela.

"People actually thought it was me at training to start with, a couple of the physios were like 'is it you?' I was like 'obviously not.'

"It is very funny, it makes me laugh, it was actually Michaela who found it and showed me it one time when we were lying on the sofa but it is very funny.

"I would actually love to know who is behind it.

"I'm not sure why people have this thing of me being really posh but it's funny nonetheless."
