Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford beats off likes of Jack Grealish and Harry Kane to scoop award

LEEDS United striker Patrick Bamford has beaten off competition from the likes of Jack Grealish and Heung-Min Son to scoop a Premier League player of the month award for September and October.

Bamford has been voted the PFA Fans' Bristol Street Motors Premier League Player of the Month for September and October having scored six goals in United's first six games, including a hat-trick in a 3-0 romp at Aston Villa.

The Whites striker came out on top from a six-man shortlist that also featured Villa's rapidly rising England star plus Tottenham Hotspur duo Son and Harry Kane.

Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy and Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin completed the shortlist.

"The accolade highlights the high calibre of talent currently demonstrated by the players, while acknowledging achievements throughout the season."

Voted for by fans, Leeds scooped four Championship PFA Player of the Month Awards last season through Luke Ayling (twice), Pablo Hernandez and Ben White with Ayling also winning the vote for the overall PFA Player of the Year award.
