Your round-up of the latest Leeds United stories ahead of this evening’s Championship clash against Norwich City.

Leeds United will look to continue their strong start to the season at Norwich City this evening and could even end the night top of the Championship. Daniel Farke’s side are four places and two points off first-place West Brom after beating Cardiff and Coventry, with hope of a third straight win at Carrow Road.

Farke will be without captain Ethan Ampadu, however, with the midfielder suffering a serious knee injury that will likely keep him out until the new year. He joins Max Wober, Dan James, Manor Solomon and Isaac Schmidt on the sidelines. There are just a few hours to go until kick-off at Norwich and the YEP has rounded up some of the latest stories surrounding the club.

‘Target’ earns permanent move

Reported Leeds target Karamoko Dembele has earned himself a permanent contract at Queens Park Rangers, having impressed in the early weeks of his loan spell. Dembele moved to Loftus Road from French outfit Brest on a temporary basis in the summer, but QPR have already agreed a permanent deal which will become active in 2025.

Leeds were one of several Championship teams to have been linked with Dembele over the summer, although nothing concrete ever materialised. The 21-year-old already has three assists to his name in six league appearances for QPR.

“I’m really happy to be here permanently and I’ve also enjoyed playing at Loftus Road - the atmosphere is incredible when there’s a big game,” Dembele told QPR’s website. “I’m pleased with the impact I’ve been able to make so far. My goal is to help the team as much as I can - I always want more but I’m pleased with the start I’ve made.”

Youngster eyed

Leeds are one of three Championship teams reportedly scouting Port Vale youngster Karl Agnero. TEAMtalk claim the Whites, Stoke City and Norwich are all ‘making regular checks’ on the 16-year-old but face possible competition from Premier League rivals.

Agnero has emerged as one of the EFL’s hottest young prospects after making his first-team debut during Port Vale’s EFL Trophy win over Wolves Under-21s last month. The all-action midfielder is playing regularly above his age group, enjoying a number of appearances at under-18 level.

A number of clubs across the Championship and Premier League are thought to have been alerted to Agnero, with the report suggesting Leeds see the teenager as ‘a potential star in the making’. It adds that club chiefs are keen to build a strong base of youth talent in their academy, having enjoyed great success with Archie Gray.
