Leeds United goalkeeper Rob Green has secured a 12-month extension to his contract at Elland Road.

The 37-year-old will remain with Leeds until at least the end of next season after he activated an appearance-related clause in his initial deal.

Green signed a one-year contract with United after leaving Queens Park Rangers last summer. The deal include a provision offering him another 12 months at Elland Road if he played a certain number of times this term.

The England international has been ever-present in United’s Championship campaign, first choice ahead of Marco Silvestri, and is set to make his 39th outing of the season in tonight’s clash with Brighton.
