Inside Elland Road podcast returns as team discuss Leeds United goals issue, Tottenham clash & Bonfire Night rockets
A newly-assembled team are ready to discuss everything Leeds United this season.
The Yorkshire Evening Post’s Inside Elland Road podcast returns this week with every angle of Leeds United covered.
Familiar face and eternal optimist Chris O’Connor is back hosting the podcast, joined by Leeds writers Kyle Newbould and Lee Sobot. The trio will convene at YEP headquarters every week to cover the latest news in and around Elland Road.
In this week’s episode, Chris, Kyle and Lee start by discussing Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth. Leeds started well at the Vitality Stadium before a Halloween nightmare courtesy of James Trafford.

The Whites goalkeeper passed straight out to Justin Kluivert midway through the first-half and was unable to atone for his error, Evanilson eventually rolling into an empty net. Leeds huffed and puffed for a leveller but fell 2-0 down in added-time.
Alongside Trafford’s error, the pod discuss how Leeds struggled to create chances at the Vitality Stadium and where their issues in front of goal lie. Harry Wilson’s form is also a big talking point, with the Welshman improved but not perfect.
Jean-Matteo Bahoya was introduced late on at Bournemouth, two days after Daniel Farke’s incredible 13-minute response to questions over the Frenchman’s minutes. Chris, Lee and Kyle discuss where they agree with the Leeds boss and parts of his explanation that are open to counter-argument.
And then it’s time to look forward, with Leeds back home on Saturday when they host Tottenham Hotspur. Roberto De Zerbi’s side have hit a good spell of form at a bad time for the Whites, winning their last three.
It’s an early kick-off too, with Leeds looking to pick up a Premier League win with kick-off before 3pm for the first time in 22 attempts. That quite incredible record is assessed and then it’s time for predictions, with Chris as optimistic as ever while Kyle and Lee also share their thoughts on how the game will go.
There’s a little bit of time for some FPL talk, with Kyle top of the work league and Lee close behind in second. Finally, the team discuss their best-ever Leeds rockets ahead of Bonfire Night on Wednesday.
The next episode of the Inside Elland Road podcast will be out later this week, and every week from here on out. Find it on YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts.
