Leeds United playmaker Pablo Hernandez caps fine season with award

Hernandez proved particularly inspirational throughout July despite nursing a hamstring issue and starting United's first four games of the month from the bench.

The 35-year-old Spaniard finished the month with three assists and three goals including his 89th-minute strike in the dramatic 1-0 victory at Swansea City.

After helping to steer United to promotion as champions, Hernandez has now been named the PFA Bristol Street Motors Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for June/July, beating off competition from Brentford duo Said Benrahma and Ethan Pinnock, West Brom's Matheus Pereira, Swansea City's Andre Ayew and Wigan Athletic's Nathan Byrne.

Leeds have now taken the award four times this season with Luke Ayling having taken the accolade in both December and February after Ben White took the first gong in August.
