Sam Allardyce’s Whites are heading into Sunday’s final day of the season sat second-bottom and needing a victory at home to Tottenham plus slip-ups from both Everton and Leicester City to survive. Upon needing three results to go their way, Leeds are generally odds of about 1-33 to survive.
But there is still ultimately a chance which means huge imponderables about a whole host of players this coming summer. Here, ahead of Sunday’s final day showdown against Tottenham, we run through some big Whites player question marks including several possible Whites farewells.
7. Luis Sinisterra
Possibly a similar sort of story to Harrison as a definite big asset and already an established international in Sinisterra's case with Colombia. Whether you could see him in the Championship if Leeds go down is open to debate, Photo: Michael Regan
8. Rodrigo
Where would Leeds be without his goals this season? The answer is already down. But quite what the future holds for the top scorer remains to be seen if Leeds are consigned to the drop. Photo: OLI SCARFF
9. Patrick Bamford
Like Rodrigo, the immediate question mark with Bamford surrounds whether he will be fit enough to play any part against Spurs upon becoming injured at West Ham. But quite what happens thereafter is anyone's guess, especially if Leeds are relegated. The abuse Bamford received on social media was shameful. Yes, his finishing has not been up to scratch but his hold up play is quickly missed when he's absent and Leeds will need to have a big think about the direction they take upfront, in either division. 10. Willy Gnonto
If you had to put your house on there being interest in one Leeds player this summer it would be him. Gnonto has gone off the boil a bit of late but his impact in the Autumn was breath-taking at times, Gary Neville even describing him as a ready made Manchester City winger. But whether Leeds stay up or go down, the Whites will clearly be desperate to keep the exciting 19-year-old Italian international forward. Gnonto's big mate Crysencio Summerville is also bound to have admirers. Photo: Matt McNulty
11. Tyler Adams
In a similar boat to Gnonto but five years older and very much more experienced, established, polished and the USA international captain no less. Could you really see him in the Championship? Leeds will obviously hope so if the worst comes to the worst and you'd feel much better about United's prospects if he was still in the side next term, in either division. Photo: George Wood
12. Georginio Rutter
The million-dollar question. What is he? When will we see him play? What's not in doubt is that the new record signing has definitely been given time to settle in and it will be fascinating to see what happens next. Ex-Whites midfielder David Prutton made a good point in this week's YEP column. "If you are looking for a silver lining to what is a very, very dark cloud if it is relegation then you have got a £35m striker that might smash the Championships to bits. But it is a might and the proof will be in the pudding." Photo: Stu Forster
