Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth has been linked with Leeds United again, but the YEP understands he is not a player currently being pursued by Leeds United.

The 22-year-old Argentine has played seven times for Spurs this season, including three Champions League appearances.

He was rumoured to be a transfer target for the Whites in January 2019 and a fresh report has emerged from his native country that Leeds are set to bring him in on loan as a replacement for Ben White next season.

A source close to the player poured cold water on suggestions that a deal is in the pipeline, telling the YEP they were unaware of any interest from Leeds and that a decision over his future will only be made until the Premier League season is concluded.

It is almost certain that Leeds would have to be a Premier League club to sign the centre-half, who was championed by Marcelo Bielsa protégé Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs.

Foyth joined Spurs for a reported £8million in 2017 from Estudiantes.

He made one Champions League and seven FA Cup appearances in his first season and added 12 Premier League games to his CV in 2018/19.

Since Jose Mourinho was appointed Spurs boss Foyth has played just 46 minutes of top flight action and his last appearance came in December.

The 10-cap Argentine international has not made a Premier League squad in 2020.

Leeds have employed the services of Brighton loanee White at centre-half, alongside captain Liam Cooper this season, with impressive results.

White's debut season in the Championship has led to interest from a number of top Premier League clubs and Brighton are keen to retain the 22-year-old when he returns from his loan spell at Elland Road.
