Raphinha approves of Whites successor

Raphinha shared an affectionate message as Crysencio Summerville, the man who is taking over the Brazilian’s number 10 shirt at Elland Road on Wednesday.

After wearing the number 18 shirt during his first season in West Yorkshire, ‘Rapha’ donned the 10 jersey as he bagged 11 goals to become the Whites’ top scorer last season.

In July, Raphinha ended a two-year stay at Leeds to join the club he dreamt of playing for as a child, Barcelona, in a £50m deal.

This week, young winger Summerville signed a new contract which will keep him at Elland Road until 2026.

The 20-year-old marked the occasion by sharing a photo of himself holding up a number 10 shirt with his name on it with his Instagram followers.

Raphinha expressed his approval, commenting: ‘my boy’.

Ayling set to make history

Leeds United defender Luke Ayling will become the first Premier League player ever to attend a Pride event this weekend.

The 30-year-old will join the club’s LGBT+ supporters’ group, Marching Out Together, on a parade through the city centre on Sunday afternoon.

Whites CEO Angus Kinnear and former players Jermaine Beckford and Noel Whelan will also be involved as Leeds celebrates diversity.

Fans wanting to march should gather on Cookridge Street at 1.30pm and look out for Leeds United shirts.

£33m Jack Harrison bid reportedly rejected

Leeds United have rejected a £33m bid for Jack Harrison, according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna.

Newcastle United want him but are yet to meet the £39m asking price reportedly set by the Whites.

The 25-year-old ended the 2021/2022 as United’s second top scorer with eight goals and one assist.
