A look at all the latest headlines surrounding Leeds United as the next round of Premier League fixtures approaches.

Leeds United are back in preparation mode ahead of their clash with Crystal Palace this weekend.

The Whites picked up another point over the weekend, drawing with Aston Villa at home despite playing much of the second half with 10 men.

Jesse Marsch’s men will be looking to build on that draw in the capital this weekend, but Palace will be looking to improve on a tricky start amid a rather unfriendly set of fixtures to kick off the season.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest headlines surrounding Elland Road.

Gelhardt latest

Joe Gelhardt has been tipped to leave Elland Road on a loan deal.

The BBC’s Adam Pope told the Don’t Go to Bed Yet podcast: “Where does it [Gnonto’s arrival] leave Gelhardt at the minute? Because he’s either [on the] bench – he obviously started at Brentford and it didn’t turn out great for him that day – but while others are scoring loads in the 21s like your [Mateo] Josephs, your Perkinses, Gnonto’s like the name at the moment.

“Where’s it leaving him? If it continues like this, would it lead towards him maybe going out on loan in January or something? I’m sure they don’t want to lose him at any point.”

Dieng reaction

Leeds target Bamba Dieng is said to have ‘cried with rage’ after his transfer to Nice fell through in the summer.

The Whites were close to signing the forward, who rejected a move at the final moment to try to force through a move to Nice.

But Nice failed to agree a deal, leaving Dieng at Marseille, a turn of events, L’Equipe say, left the forward in tears.

Harrison replacement option

Leeds have been told how they can replace Jack Harrison should the winger leave in the near future.

Kevin Campbell told Football Insider: “(Ryan) Kent would be perfect. He would be the ideal replacement for Jack Harrison should he leave.

“Kent’s contract is running down so there is a bargain to be had there. You do that deal if you’re Leeds.

“They could sign him even if Jack Harrison stays or signs a new deal. Kent is a good player and you would be getting him cheap. He is affordable.

“That would be a good move for all parties. Leeds could sign a pre-contract agreement with him in January.”
